You moved into a house with a pre-installed security system
Sometimes when people close on a home, a home security system is already established. All the devices function well, are hung in the correct places, and are ready to go. In this case, you might see that you have to call and establish a new service contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to ensure there are no compatibility issues, and they may offer suggestions on upgrades. It's a preliminary visit, and you can get your monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you get some new devices.
The outgoing owners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make the process simpler. If the owners are moving to an apartment or smaller home, transferring the home security contract might be a part of the sale.
You want to move and take your existing equipment with you
You might need to take your existing Vivint system with you to your new home when you move. It should be pretty easy to do, as most alarms and smart devices are portable. You can remove each device by yourself or use a professional installer to come and take down everything. Then our installers will put in the same features -- and any additions you need to put in -- in your new place. And your home security contract will stay the same.
